Words to thank you, for the joy your art has brought me, are hard to come by. Because I was captured by your paintings, we met. Because I was captured by you, the heart and soul behind your creations, we entered into business. Your art now hangs at our corporate office, at our sales center, and in my home. Because of you, I am surrounded by beauty. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I am very fortunate to have come to known Reiko over the past year, as not only an exceptionally talented artist, but as a very wonderful friend. We have several of her Letter to Monet pieces in our office at Lennar Urban and having her exquisite pieces on our walls, allow for light, vibrancy, and spirit to invigorate our daily surroundings. Each brush stroke is done with such thoughtfulness and passion — it is obvious she puts her heart and soul into each piece of artwork, no matter how big or small.
I still can’t believe this piece is mine! There is something very special with Reiko‘s pieces and how they evoke such a sense of joy and pure spirit in me. I love it. I can’t get my eyes off Letter to Monet #211 and I love how the light dances with the piece in the room. So grateful I came across Reiko‘s work!
I have been the delighted guardian of Reiko’s “Michikusa” piece for quite some time, as she so graciously exhibited the masterpiece in my office at Lennar Urban. We have since purchased several of Reiko’s pieces, to have a permanent home at our Lennar Urban headquarters. Her artwork has been a conduit for some very stimulating conversations, meaningful reflection, and a gentle reminder for me to pause throughout the day and appreciate the tranquility that she has captured in her canvas. Thank you Reiko for sharing your life’s passion with our team.
Reiko, you have reinvented yourself once again with your new Dark Series. The deep rich metallic layers of each piece is twice as impressive when viewed in person. We’re thrilled to be Reiko collectors!
We are so proud to add an original Reiko Muranaga to our collection. L.T.M Dark Series No. 16 gives us such joy and tranquility. Reiko is such an amazing artist whose presence we feel every time we admire our piece.
Reiko it was so nice to see you yesterday as always we love the two pieces so much already found a wall for them so we may enjoy them daily. We would love to get together soon to catch up as it has been too long we finally repainted the wall for the large piece beautiful – took a few years.
With your Letter to Monet Page 200 you have outdone even yourself – the exuberance literally jumps off the canvas! The new Dark Series pieces evoke a more tranquil, calm emotion that belies the complexity of the multi-layered application of colors creating such a rich interior dynamic. We also still absolutely love the three pieces on our walls!”
As always beautiful, aesthetic and excellently crafted. Magic colors and magic artist.
Your studio is the place where even the most trivial is beautiful. The letter to monet’s delicate strokes and colors have always appealed to me but now I am a big fan of your new series. Darker metallic tone. Bold and intense!
Reiko, I came right home to measure my wall, and quite disappointingly found it to be much shorter than I had thought- it is barely 7 feet long, and not the 9 feet that I had assumed. It simply would not be large enough to do justice to this remarkable work. Nonetheless, I wanted to let you know how beautiful it is, and that I will forever regret not being able to have it hanging in my home. It truly allowed me to be “outside myself” and to feel as though I was floating down a river of color. Perhaps one day, we will be able to find another of your slightly smaller but equally remarkable pieces for my modest little home! For now, I will be content to gaze lovingly at my own little gem, visit you at your studio to search for the perfect next piece, and, if we can arrange it, find time to tour all your lovely works at the Hotel Nikko.
Having seen what you have done over many years, I think your latest series reflect the continuation of the evolution your work is going through while maintaining your unique style of beautifully delicate colors and strokes that are always delightful and graceful. Each canvas or “page” of the Letters to Monet series has a distinct character of its own as if it’s part of a long message written in a language uniquely its own! The way you are not just reciting him but trying to have a conversation is quite remarkable
Your challenge of making a dark background has given you a new and exciting series. They are dazzling impressionistic images for the imagination. Amazing! I think taking on a challenge bigger than ourselves always opens up creativity if we accept it. But many are timid about taking that challenge. It is so inspiring that you are experimenting with new artistic endeavors.
Since I met your art, it always leads me to new world by precious, comfortable and energize place. And it never changed from my first impression when I fell in love. This time Luckily I met your new series (dark series) that progressed to another new stage . I can’t stop to wish introduce your art in Japan and Asia . Thanks Reiko ! – sorry about my English
Thank you so much for letting me add one of your paintings to my “collection” I absolutely love it and will always make sure it has a special place in my home. I can’t wait to see your work at the next Open Studios.
We enjoyed visiting with you this weekend and loved giving your wonderful art a home. Thank you for allowing us to do so. Please keep painting!
I love the dark series. You are, by far, the only reason to visit open studios at Hunter’s Point. I am glad the newest paintings are selling. They are beautiful. The framing was fabulous. I love staring at your painting on my wall everyday. I see your work in Hotel Nikko all the time.
Reiko, I await my sixth commission painting. Coming home to beautiful art feeds my soul. Your paintings bring reflections not conjured up by other works. I feel I am part of a select group of collectors who know they have discovered something special. Knowing you personally, makes my pieces that much more special.
Reiko, from the very earliest paintings, you have expressed in the art you create the sparkle that is YOU! There is more than just beautiful paint on canvas, compelling forms, and exciting themes. There an insight into the artist that is rare, and so compelling.
We are fortunate enough to own 2 of Reiko’s works. One which we had commissioned in 2011 and a much smaller piece from an earlier Reiko period circa 1997. The commissioned piece reflects the care and thought that went into the creation. Reiko came over and asked us questions about our personalities and personal tastes. We wondered for months what the final result would look like and when we finally got to see it we knew she had hit a grand slam. The 54′ x 54′ commissioned piece is the centerpiece of our home; it truly is our own special masterpiece.
This is my first piece from Reiko. I fell in love with this piece from the moment I saw it on the wall in her studio. It is prominently hanging in my living room. Every time I view the piece I see something new. I could look at this piece for hours. Definitely a great conversation piece.
We feel so privileged to have three Reiko Masterpieces in our home. Our love affair began in 2004 with Untitled #4; continued in 2005 with David’s favorite, Letter to Monet: Page 20; and then in 2010 with Lance’s prized Monet on Shunguataha. Reiko’s wonderful work brings inspiration, warmth, and heart to our home (not unlike the artist herself!) The pieces have brought us joy and reflection since the day we brought them home.
Ever since we met you in the mid 1990′s we have been enthralled with your talent, paintings, charcoal drawings and endless energy for art. It is still amazing to find continual changing of your art. It is incredible.
As I walked around Open Studio I wandered over to the Silent Auction items to see what was being auctioned off. I didn’t expect this but when I turned the corner I found her. You see I have been looking for a piece of art to invest in that spoke to me, that made a connection to me. Here it was and she drew me to her. There was no doubt I had to have her; it was Reiko’s figure drawing “Melissa Seated”. I immediately thought about bidding but I did not want to compete for her so I walked away but not for long. I went to Reiko’s studio and waited to meet her so I could learn a bit more about “Melissa” and see if Reiko was an artist I wanted to invest in. Well after about 5 minutes of conversation with Reiko, I knew I had found my artist. I ran back down, walked over to “Melissa” and paid the “buy it now” price for her. She was mine and every morning I wake to her in my apartment knowing we were meant for each other. I will enjoy “Melissa” and my new friendship with Reiko.
Reiko, Earlier this month when I looked at your masterpiece, of 5 years in the making, my heart and soul were touched so deeply that tears came to my eyes. I found myself adverting the Letter to Monet, Page 200 – Michikusha when others came to look, because each time I glanced at Michikusha, tears began to well-up in mutual recognition. Thank you for creating such beauty! Aloha.
I have been a huge fan of Reiko and her Letters to Monet paintings for many years. I am so blessed to actually own one of her masterpieces since 2012. Reiko’s work is so brilliant: stunning rich colors, originality, bold brush strokes and techniques, textures, sense of motion and fluidity and the depth to the many layers of paint. My painting hangs in the “Asian Wing” of my house, which I admire every day. It brings me joy, peace, serenity, and happiness.
Reiko, even though we didn’t get a chance to talk I am so happy to have been a part of your collectors circle and Letter to Monet 10th Anniversary celebration. Your new work, even though called the Dark Series, doesn’t seem dark at all to me. It just reflects light differently, and can be intensely bright at certain angles. I think of it to myself as more metallic, which can be dense and collect light, and then at a different angle, reflects it back as a mirror would. You have an eye for line, color, and form, and an artistic process that is thoughtful, free, and deep. As one of your first art students ever, back in the late 1990’s, I am grateful to have learned more about your methods and approach to art and the creative process. Your works bless the walls they are on.
It’s absolutely stunning!
